Job description

If you have an eye for detail and enjoy creating a safe and clean environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society, then join the team at Stanley House as a Housekeeper.

You will be an integral part of the housekeeping team at a service for neurological conditions, responsible for cleaning all areas of the service, including wards, office spaces, bedrooms, and visitors areas.

Working closely with the maintenance team, you’ll ensure all areas are spotless and confidently deliver high-standard cleaning services.

As a Housekeeper, you will be:

  • Maintaining security standards by following hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participating actively in the day-to-day operations of the team.
  • Maintaining excellent telephone etiquette and greeting visitors professionally.
  • Building good relationships with staff, visitors, and service users.
  • Helping create a positive culture.
  • Performing other appropriate tasks as requested.
  • Attending mandatory and statutory training annually.

You will work at Stanley House, which offers multidisciplinary care and specialized therapeutic interventions. The team supports residents in reviewing their needs, offering therapies like physiotherapy and art therapy, with input from specialists including a Professor in Neuropsychiatry and monthly GP clinics.

Residents have varying needs, from managing some personal care to being fully reliant, including assistance with washing, dressing, shaving, continence, and eating. End-of-life care is also provided, ensuring residents stay in a comfortable, familiar environment with family support.

Supporting residents in activities, providing assistance with mobility, and organizing social events make this a rewarding role.
