Job summary

Tops Christchurch Nursery, part of Tops Day Nurseries Ltd., is seeking a dedicated Nursery Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe and nurturing environment for our children and staff. The role covers cleaning, laundry, and stock management across the nursery, with safeguarding and infection-control at the forefront.

You will join a team focussed on high-quality early years care, in a setting that values reliability, independence, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience.
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain.
• Eligible to work in regulated roles.
• Background and reference checks required.
• Eye for detail and pride in work.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all areas of the nursery are clean, tidy, and well presented.
• Cleaning toilets, nappy changing areas, and staff areas regularly.
• Managing laundry duties, including washing, drying, and folding.
• Maintaining stock levels of cleaning materials and supplies.
• Supporting staff in keeping rooms tidy and safe for children.
• Adhering to health and safety and infection control standards at all times.

About the Nursery

Tops Christchurch Nursery is a 77-place day nursery and preschool located in the beautifully renovated Priory Hall in the heart of Christchurch. We provide Early Education and Care for children aged 3 months to preschool, with a custom-designed garden and a rich programme including Forest School, cooking school, yoga, Boogie Mites, and more. Children enjoy regular local outings to Priory, nearby parks, and the waterfront, encouraging curiosity and a love of the outdoors. Our play-based approach supports confident, independent learners in a happy, nurturing environment, working in close partnership with families.

What does the role involve?

• Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service. If you don’t yet have one, you’ll need to cover the cost.
• Be eligible to work in regulated roles- not on the Children’s Barred List.
• Successfully complete background and reference checks.
