An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housekeeper role within the Inpatient and Outpatient Therapy teams currently based at HRI.
The postholder will support the clinical teams by ensuring that a high standard of cleanliness is maintained within treatment areas at all times. You will also help in the smooth running of the department by ensuring equipment is kept well maintained, and everything is at hand and well stocked to allow a high standard of clinical care to be delivered to patients. The role also includes some basic clerical tasks.
To tidy sluice and linen storage areas as required.
To tidy other areas, as requested by the departmental therapy manager.
To run errands for patients and other members of staff.
Cleaning of the old Hydrotherapy pool area.
Cleaning of all treatment and assessment areas within the In and Out-patient Therapy departments.
To tidy linen storage areas and to ensure a plentiful supply of linen at all times.
Cleaning and checking of all returned crutches and mobility equipment to ensure that they are ready and appropriate to be issued to patients.
Cleaning of all equipment both with the In and Outpatient areas.

To create and maintain effective working relationships with other members of staff.
To answer the telephone in a professional manner.
To follow Health and Safety policies relevant to working environment and attend mandatory updates in accordance with Trust policy eg fire procedure and food hygiene.
To adhere to Trust policies and procedures.
To highlight potential hazards to the senior therapists.
To handle appropriate equipment safely, following training/instruction.
To decontaminate equipment according to infection control policies.
To report faulty equipment to the Estates Department.
This job description reflects current priorities and commitment and may change as a result of service changes and can be varied after consultation with the post holder.
To check that the crash trolly/s are functioning correctly with all appropriate equipment in place.

3.5 Managing SelfParticipate in regular supervision.
Attend all mandatory training.
Participate annually identifying, developing and agreeing your own development plan with your Line Manager using the Trust Appraisal.

Carry out duties with due regard to the Trusts Equal Opportunity Policy.
Seek advice and support from Line Manager whenever necessary.
Maintain professional conduct including appearance at all times.
Ensure maintenance of Professional Registration.
