Job summary

Lloyd's Register International is seeking a part-time Housekeeper in Chesham Bois to maintain high cleanliness standards in a care home environment. You will work 20 hours a week, ensuring rooms and common areas are spotless, supporting residents and staff, and contributing to a safe, welcoming atmosphere.

You will receive training and can expect benefits typical of a not-for-profit care provider, including DBS checks and staff support. A friendly team and a stable, supportive workplace await.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping within a care setting preferred.
• Willingness to learn and follow training.
• Able to communicate with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in residents' rooms and communal areas.
• Assist with laundry, ironing and uniform care as required.
• Support residents with daily routines in a respectful manner.

ABOUT OUR ROLE

Our Housekeepers play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in our homes, ensuring that every room and living space is clean, tidy and maintained at all times. A champion for hygiene and infection control within the home, you’ll have access to specialised equipment and materials to ensure you can create a welcoming, safe and comfortable environment for residents, as well as their friends and families. Some of our residents love to join in with simple cleaning and laundry tasks, so you may sometimes find that you have extra help as you carry out your daily routines.

In joining us, you’ll also become part of our extended family. You’ll work alongside other team members who are passionate about providing a safe environment, as well as warmth and kindness to all those who live and work in our homes.

As an accessible nursing home in Chesham, we’re conveniently located close to Chesham town centre, and on a local bus route, Chesham Leys care home provides care for 62 people and is a purpose-built nursing care home, with resident well-being being our number one priority. Individual rooms can be personalised to feel as homely as possible, while each of our 3 floors has its own character and plenty of shared spaces.

ABOUT YOU

You’ll be comfortable in an elderly care setting, with the ability to relate to our residents in a caring and sensitive manner.

If you’ve worked in a housekeeping role before, then that’s great as you’ll have a good idea of what to expect. But if housekeeping as a profession is new to you, then don’t worry – we’ll provide all the training you need to start your new career with us.
