Job summary

N Family Club in Cambridge is seeking a Housekeeper for 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6:00pm–10:00pm. You’ll help create a safe, welcoming, and spotless environment for children, families, and staff, with COSHH adherence and a strong focus on hygiene.

The role supports our Nursery Operations, reporting to Clare Grave, and offers a comprehensive benefits package as part of the N Family Club team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role.
• COSHH guidelines and Health & Safety practices knowledge.
• A caring, passionate personality with love for working with families and children.
• Experience handling hazardous materials and safe usage knowledge.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive, glass-half-full attitude with drive to deliver results.
• Strong customer service mindset and high energy for tasks.

Responsibilities

• Keep classrooms and kitchens sparkling and well-maintained.
• Make the nursery welcoming and comfortable for children, parents and visitors.
• Keep bathrooms and changing areas spotless.
• Identify broken or faulty equipment and report for quick fixes.
• Manage laundry and maintain cleaning supplies stocks.
• Water plants and keep the environment bright and fresh.
• Use nursery-safe cleaning products following COSHH rules.
• Receive deliveries and organise items appropriately.
• Maintain high hygiene standards to keep the nursery shining daily.

Your key responsibilities

• Work with the nursery team to keep everything sparkling clean and running smoothly.


• Help make the nursery feel warm and welcoming for children, parents, and visitors.


• Keep bathrooms and changing areas spotless.


• Spot any broken or faulty equipment and let management know so we can fix it fast.


• Stay on top of laundry and make sure we're always stocked with the right cleaning supplies.


• Water the plants and keep the nursery feeling fresh and bright.


• Use the right products for a nursery environment, following COSHH guidelines to keep everyone safe.


• Welcome deliveries and make sure everything is kept in the right place.


• Be our hygiene hero - keeping our nursery safe, clean, and shining every day.

Our Housekeepers should have...

• Previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role.


• Knowledge of COSHH guidelines and an understanding of Health & Safety practices.


• A caring and passionate personality, with a genuine love for working with children and families.


• Experience of working with hazardous materials and know how to use them safely.


• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
