Purpose of the role:

We are seeking HRRC Operatives with strong customer service skills who are passionate about making Bristol a cleaner and greener place. You will be the first point of contact for the public, providing advice, guidance, and assistance, ensuring waste is received and deposited correctly.

You will:

  • Manage receipt and segregation of waste, engaging with both commercial clients and the public.
  • Oversee the loading and transfer of waste and recyclable materials to disposal points.
  • Perform general site duties, including site grounds, building, and staff facilities maintenance.
  • If trained, operate mobile plant such as a telehandler, including inspections and defect reporting.
  • Operate weighbridge when required.
  • Participate in recycling and reuse activities and initiatives.

Essential Requirements for the Role:

  • Experience in customer service and dealing with diverse colleagues and clients, with effective communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to operate a computerised weighbridge (training provided).
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and related legislation.
  • Physical capability to lift weights up to 25kg and perform manual handling tasks.
