Job description

Tiger Private is seeking an exceptional House Manager to oversee the smooth running of a fully staffed historic residence just outside Reading.

The House Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and long-term care of the estate, working closely with interior designers, conservationists, heritage consultants, and architects on restoration and renovation projects. A key part of the role will be balancing the integration of contemporary functionality with the careful preservation of the home’s original features. Maintaining up-to-date household manuals, inventories, and compliance records will also form part of the remit.

In addition to property care, the successful candidate will manage all household staff, vendors, and external service providers, ensuring smooth coordination of services and seasonal maintenance. Working alongside the Chief of Staff or family office, they will track budgets, manage procurement, and oversee expenditure. The House Manager will also play a hands-on role in planning and delivering family gatherings, creative events, and philanthropic functions held at the residence.

The position may also involve providing occasional administrative or secretarial support, including diary management, correspondence, and document preparation.
