Job overview

Hotel Services is committed to providing high-quality, helpful, courteous, and personal service to the patients of the Trust and supporting Nursing Staff.

Your role as a Housekeeper involves providing a safe, nutritious, and well-balanced meal service to patients in a clean and supportive environment, working with ward-based staff in a team spirit.

Patients and staff should receive a high level of customer service, delivered promptly, friendly, and efficiently by Hotel Services staff with a high standard of personal presentation.

Main duties of the job

Your duties will be carried out according to specified tasks with defined frequency levels:

  • Make a personal introduction to new patients following their clinical admission.
  • Ensure the ward provides an up-to-date list of patients' dietary requirements.
  • Assist Nursing Staff with food service to patients.
  • Monitor patient eating and report to nursing team if assistance is needed.

Assist with serving beverages, food, and snacks, and clear beverages throughout the day, including supplement drinks.

  • Ensure provision of beverages for distressed relatives.
  • Manage food provisions and catering resources economically.
  • Resolve shortages of food, crockery, and milk.
  • Clean patients' bedside tables before each meal, set up place mats and cutlery.
  • Check stock and remove out-of-date food from ward kitchen refrigerators.
  • Record refrigerator temperatures and complete catering sheets, including food waste and temperatures.
