Responsibilities

We are seeking to hire a team of hourly paid lecturers to deliver on the BA in VFX programme. We are looking to build a candidate pool of industry practitioners and educators who can demonstrate current experience and a commitment to supporting the development of creative professionals.

  • Deliver on the BA in VFX programme and engage with students across all undergraduate levels.
  • Contribute to the development of creative professionals and maintain an industry-relevant teaching approach.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Candidates should have an excellent knowledge of the VFX industry and an ability to engage with students across all undergraduate levels.
  • Credible professional/industry profile, evidence of high-quality teaching practice, and experience in the delivery of further or higher education programmes.
  • A degree in a relevant discipline is expected. Teaching and/or postgraduate qualifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Essential Skills and Experience:
    • Proven track record in visual effects, either through industry practice or teaching.
    • Software Proficiency:
      • Nuke Compositing
      • Adobe After Effects
      • Adobe Photoshop
      • Autodesk Maya
      • SideFX Houdini
      • Substance Painter
    • Core Compositing & VFX Skills:
      • 2D/3D Tracking
      • Keying and Compositing Workflows
      • Paint and Roto Techniques
      • Seamless Integration of 3D Renders into Live-Action Footage
    • 2D Parallax - Photo bashing - 1 2 and 3 Point Perspective - CG Into live action - Compositing - Rotoscoping - Simulations - Character Animation - Rendering (Arnold / Mantra / Karma, desirable Redshift)
  • Desirable Skills:
    • Zbrush Sculpting and Rigging
