Job summary

Nottingham Trent University’s School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment seeks hourly paid lecturers for Civil Engineering. The role covers undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across a range of modules, with opportunities in materials, geotechnics, surveying, transport and design.

We welcome academics with broad expertise who can contribute to teaching, preparation and marking across the schedule, with flexible hours that vary by week and program requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching civil engineering topics at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
• Ability to teach across multiple civil engineering modules.

• Available for hourly paid/casual lecturing commitments.

Responsibilities

• Teach on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in civil engineering.
• Prepare, deliver and assess scheduled teaching sessions.
• Mark assignments and provide timely feedback.
• Contribute to course development and continual improvement.

Hourly Paid Lecturer in Civil Engineering
£50.75 per direct hour, this includes 2 or more of the following elements: teaching, preparation and marking of the scheduled programme of work.
A flat rate of £20.72 per direct teaching hour will be paid for completing one of the above elements of the schedule.
The number of hours required and the days of the week may vary.
About The RoleYou will join the thriving and innovative Departments in our School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment which are responsible for teaching and research in a variety of disciplines at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
We are looking for well-rounded academics with experience in the following disciplines, with a positive attitude, that wish to be part of a forward-looking Department. We are looking for hourly paid lecturers to teach on a range of programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
