What really matters to us is providing every one of our patients with an excellent experience, a service that really cares, and one that delivers the right outcome. We achieve this every day.

We require a domestic assistant to work 16 hours per week on a rota basis, covering 6.00am - 10.00am shifts, including weekends and Bank Holidays over 7 days.

Although previous experience is desirable, it is not essential as full training is provided.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide a high-quality domestic cleaning service to hospital, health centre, and clinic settings.
  2. Work individually or as part of a team to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors in accordance with the National Standards of Cleanliness.
  3. Follow a work schedule while being flexible and prepared to work at other sites as service demands dictate.
  4. Perform cleaning tasks including sanitary ware, treatment rooms, waiting, office and kitchen areas, mirrors, high and low dusting, washing of tiled surfaces and paintwork, and curtain changing.
  5. Raise and record incidents accurately within required timeframes via the appropriate system (e.g., Datix).
  6. Care for and safely use mechanical equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers).
  7. Replenish disposable items (e.g., hand towels) and ensure correct use and storage of cleaning agents and equipment.
  8. Dispose of waste in accordance with the Trust Waste Policy.
  9. Accurately complete documentation (e.g., own time sheet and Barrier or Terminal cleans).
  10. Comply with Infection Control policy/guidelines, including the colour coding system.
  11. Be aware of site security while undertaking duties (e.g., closing windows and doors securely).
  12. Wear protective clothing.
  13. Maintain equipment and materials in a clean, tidy condition and report any faulty equipment in a timely manner.
  14. Comply with Health and Safety regulations.
  15. Attend all required Trust and service-specific training.
  16. Demonstrate and explain working practices to new starters.
