Job summary

The Milner York is seeking an experienced Hotel Manager on a 12‑month fixed‑term maternity cover to lead daily hotel operations across Rooms and Food & Beverage, delivering exceptional guest experiences and strong commercial results.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will direct Heads of Department, drive profitability, and develop top talent in a high‑profile, full‑service setting within a historic four‑star hotel.

Qualifications

• Significant senior operational leadership experience within a comparable four‑star (or above) hotel.
• Previous experience as a Hotel Manager, Deputy General Manager or Operations Manager in a large, full‑service hotel.
• Strong Food & Beverage background including experience overseeing busy restaurants, bars, conferences, banqueting and events.
• Solid understanding of Rooms Division and seamless guest journey delivery.
• Experience leading large operational teams through Heads of Department.
• Strong commercial acumen with budgeting, forecasting and profitability drive.
• Hands‑on leadership style with ability to support operational teams when needed.
• Excellent communication, coaching and relationship building skills.
• Proven track record of developing high‑performing teams and future leaders.

The Role – Hotel Manager (12‑Month Fixed‑Term Maternity Cover)

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll be responsible for the day‑to‑day leadership of hotel operations, ensuring every department consistently delivers exceptional guest experiences while achieving strong commercial performance.

Working in partnership with the General Manager, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership across the hotel, driving performance, developing talent and embedding a culture of accountability, collaboration and service excellence.

This is a highly visible, hands‑on leadership role where you'll lead from the front, supporting your teams, engaging with guests and setting the standard every day.

You'll be a confident, engaging and commercially minded hotel leader who is passionate about developing people and delivering outstanding hospitality.

• Previous experience as a Hotel Manager, Deputy General Manager or Operations Manager in a large, full‑service hotel.
