Job summary

JA The Bruntsfield Hotel in Edinburgh is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help inspect, fix and maintain equipment, perform scheduled and preventative tasks, and ensure rooms are well maintained. You will liaise with contractors, handle routine repairs from painting to plumbing, and support safety and health regulations while delivering excellent guest service.

Qualifications

• Experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical systems is a plus.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift heavy equipment.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.
• Work in a team and follow instructions from your manager.
• May be required to work outside of normal hours.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain equipment and machinery under supervision of the Maintenance Manager.
• Complete scheduled maintenance tasks and preventative work.
• Identify upgrade or replacement needs and liaise with contractors.
• Deliver excellent customer service and support guests and staff.
• Conduct repairs to flooring and other fittings; perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Keep rooms and facilities maintained and fully equipped; report statuses.
