Job summary

The Falmouth Hotel is seeking a reliable Maintenance Operative to join our on-site team. Working with the maintenance team, you will keep the hotel safe, comfortable and running smoothly for guests and colleagues.

The role covers day-to-day upkeep, basic plumbing and carpentry, responding to requests promptly and maintaining high standards across bedrooms and public areas. A hands-on, proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance or practical experience is desirable.
• Hands-on approach and willingness to learn.
• Good problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently.
• Proactive attitude and pride in high standards.
• Good communication and a helpful, professional manner.
• Able to work Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the hotel.
• Carry out general repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
• Help maintain bedrooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces to a high standard.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards or repairs requiring specialist attention.
• Assist with basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating and other general maintenance tasks where appropriate.
• Keep tools, equipment and maintenance areas clean, organised and safe.
• Support external contractors when required.
• Follow all health & safety procedures and use equipment safely.
