Job summary

Mercure Exeter Southgate Hotel is seeking a reliable Linen Porter to join our housekeeping team. You will collect, transport and distribute clean linen and towels across the hotel, maintain stocked storerooms and support room attendants.

This role requires good physical fitness, attention to detail and a proactive team player attitude. Full training will be provided, with flexibility for early mornings, weekends and public holidays to meet hotel occupancy needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in linen porter or housekeeping roles preferred; full training provided.
• Excellent physical fitness; able to lift heavy bags and stand for long periods.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control across linen deliveries.
• Reliable with good time-management; able to work with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and teamwork with room attendants and laundry staff.

Responsibilities

• Collect, transport and distribute clean linen, towels, and uniforms.
• Maintain stocked linen storerooms and supply closets.
• Sort, store and prepare linen for laundry vendor collection.
• Deliver extra amenities to guest rooms as needed.
• Inspect linens and report shortages or issues.
• Follow health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
