Job summary

Whitbread PLC is seeking a Kitchen Team Member at Newhaven Premier Inn. You will help prepare, cook and serve meals that contribute to guests’ stay, including breakfast preparation before guests wake and busy dinner service.

With a 30-hour week and a fixed-term contract to 31 December 2026, you’ll join a team focused on delivering great meals and service. No hotel experience required, training provided.

Kitchen Team Member – NewhavenPremier Inn

This isn’t just about cooking.

You’ll help prepare, cook and serve meals that become part of someone’s stay at Premier Inn because a good meal can make a great stay even better.

One minute you could be preparing breakfast before guests wake up. The next you’ll be helping the team through a busy dinner service.

Pay, hours and location

Pay: Up to £13.06 per hour

Contract: Fixed-term until 31/12/2026 – we don’t do zero-hours contracts.

Hours: 30 contracted hours per week.

Location: Newhaven Premier Inn - Avis Road, Newhaven, East Sussex, BN9 0AG

Shifts: Includes evenings, weekends and busy guest periods.

A conditional sale of the hotel has been agreed and this role may be in scope to TUPE transfer to a new employer

What you’ll do

As a Kitchen Team Member you’ll help make sure every guest gets a meal they’ll enjoy. You’ll:

• Prepare ingredients before service starts
• Cook and plate meals during breakfast and dinner service
• Help keep the kitchen clean, organised and ready for the next rush
• Receive deliveries and keep stock where it should be
• Work closely with the hotel team so service runs smoothly
• Help make sure every meal leaves the kitchen looking right

This isn't a role where you’ll spend your shift hidden in the back washing up.

You’ll be part of a team that’s working together to deliver the meals our guests rely on.

You don’t need hotel experience

Some of our best Kitchen Team Members joined us from supermarkets, cafés, pubs, restaurants, warehouses and customer service jobs.

If you’re willing to learn, we’ll teach you the rest.

You might have worked as a:

• Catering Assistant
• Barista
• Kitchen Porter
• Retail Assistant
• Warehouse Operative

This could be your first kitchen job or you may have worked in hospitality before.

What matters most is that you're reliable, enjoy working with others and don’t mind rolling your sleeves up when things get busy.
