Job summary

Premier Inn is hiring a Kitchen Team Member for our St Helens South location. You will help prepare, cook and serve meals that contribute to a great guest stay and work across breakfast and dinner service. This role involves evenings and weekends and a fixed-term contract until December 2026, with 24 contracted hours per week.

No prior hotel experience is required; we welcome candidates from supermarkets, cafés, pubs and other hospitality settings who are willing to learn and join our team.

We're currently recruiting in our St Helens South location. Working 24 hours per week, paying up to £13.06 per hour.

Kitchen Team Member – St Helens South Premier Inn

You’ll help prepare, cook and serve meals that become part of someone’s stay at Premier Inn because a good meal can make a great stay even better.

One minute you could be preparing breakfast before guests wake up. The next you’ll be helping the team through a busy dinner service.

Pay, hours and location

• Pay: Up to £13.06 per hour
• Contract: Fixed Term Contract until December 2026 – we don’t do zero-hours contracts.
• Hours: 24 contracted hours per week.
• Location: Eurolink, Lea Green, St Helens, Merseyside, WA9 4TT
• Shifts: Includes evenings, weekends and busy guest periods.

What You’ll Do

As a Kitchen Team Member you’ll help make sure every guest gets a meal they’ll enjoy. You’ll:

• Prepare ingredients before service starts
• Cook and plate meals during breakfast and dinner service
• Help keep the kitchen clean, organised and ready for the next rush
• Receive deliveries and keep stock where it should be
• Work closely with the hotel team so service runs smoothly
• Help make sure every meal leaves the kitchen looking right

This isn't a role where you’ll spend your shift hidden in the back washing up.

You’ll be part of a team that’s working together to deliver the meals our guests rely on.

You Don’t Need Hotel Experience

Some of our best Kitchen Team Members joined us from supermarkets, cafés, pubs, restaurants, warehouses and customer service jobs.

If you’re willing to learn, we’ll teach you the rest.

You Might Have Worked As a

• Catering Assistant
• Barista
• Kitchen Porter
• Retail Assistant
• Warehouse Operative

This could be your first kitchen job or you may have worked in hospitality before.

What matters most is that you're reliable, enjoy working with others and don’t mind rolling your sleeves up when things get busy.
