Job summary

Premier Inn North Shields is seeking a Kitchen Team Member at the Ferry Terminal. You’ll help prepare, cook and plate meals that guests enjoy during their stay.

Expect mornings and evenings, 12 contracted hours per week, and shifts that include weekends. You’ll work with the hotel team to deliver meals quickly and to a high standard.

No hotel experience is required – if you’re reliable, enjoy teamwork and don’t mind rolling your sleeves up, this could be your first kitchen job.

Kitchen Team Member – North Shields (Ferry Terminal) Premier Inn

This isn’t just about cooking.

You’ll help prepare, cook and serve meals that become part of someone’s stay at Premier Inn because a good meal can make a great stay even better.

One minute you could be preparing breakfast before guests wake up. The next you’ll be helping the team through a busy dinner service.

A conditional sale of the hotel has been agreed and this role may be in scope to TUPE transfer to a new employer.

Pay, hours and location

Pay: Up to £13.06 per hour

Contract: Permanent – we don’t do zero-hours contracts.

Hours: 12 contracted hours per week.

Location: Royal Quays, Coble Dene Road, North Shields, Tyne & Wear, NE29 6DL

Shifts: Includes evenings, weekends and busy guest periods.

What you’ll do

As a Kitchen Team Member you’ll help make sure every guest gets a meal they’ll enjoy. You’ll:

This isn't a role where you’ll spend your shift hidden in the back washing up.

You’ll be part of a team that’s working together to deliver the meals our guests rely on.

You don’t need hotel experience

Some of our best Kitchen Team Members joined us from supermarkets, cafés, pubs, restaurants, warehouses and customer service jobs.

If you’re willing to learn, we’ll teach you the rest.

You might have worked as a:

• Catering Assistant
• Barista
• Kitchen Porter
• Retail Assistant
• Warehouse Operative

This could be your first kitchen job or you may have worked in hospitality before.

What matters most is that you're reliable, enjoy working with others and don’t mind rolling your sleeves up when things get busy.
