Job summary

Criterion Capital Ltd seeks a Senior Design Manager to control the design development process and manage consultant teams for commercial-to-hotel conversion projects in London. You will oversee the entire design process, ensure design solutions meet client requirements, ERs, budgets and regulatory standards, and lead design reviews with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing design teams on large-scale hotel conversion projects.
• Strong ability to coordinate with consultants, clients and internal teams.
• Solid understanding of regulatory compliance and building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the consultant and contractor design process for hotel conversion projects, ensuring all designs meet requirements.
• Monitor deliverables and programs for each stage and coordinate specialist packages.
• Collaborate with project management and operations to align design with scope, budget and programme.
• Serve as primary contact for all design-related matters with clients and construction teams.
• Facilitate design review meetings to present concepts and obtain approvals.
• Address design risks impacting costs, timelines, or feasibility.
• Incorporate sustainable design principles and green building standards where applicable.
• Ensure design information output and documentation are accurate and complete.
• Support construction stage by managing duty holder processes on behalf of Principal Contractor.
• Contribute to QA/QC processes to keep on-site design closely controlled.
