We are looking to add a Hotel Chief Engineer to our team at the Historic Wentworth by the Sea Hotel and Spa. Responsibilities
- Supervise the Engineering team; interview, schedule, train, develop, coach, counsel, communicate openly, recommend performance reviews, resolve issues, and recommend discipline as appropriate.
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and daily operations of all facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
- Manage budgets related to engineering projects and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate and property standards, local, state, and federal codes and regulations to ensure safety, convenience, and satisfaction for guests, managers, and staff, while protecting assets and maintaining the property in first-class condition.
- Prioritize service requests; schedule and monitor the work performed to ensure customer satisfaction, safety, and convenience.
- Test and examine life safety systems regularly to ensure they are operational at all times, safeguarding assets, guests, and employees.
- Assist in division administration by preparing and maintaining schedules, logs, records, and documentation to ensure smooth operations and minimize liabilities.
- Create a memorable experience for guests and customers by being ready and willing to assist at all times, aiming to exceed expectations.
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least three years of experience in a related position.
- Advanced knowledge of Building Management/Engineering.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent guest service and oral communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods.
