Hotel and Events Manager - Peach Pubs

Location: The Embankment - Bedford, Bedfordshire

Salary: £29,500 - £30,000

If you are looking to join an award-winning gastro pub company, then look no further.

We are recruiting a passionate and enthusiastic Hotel and Events Manager to join our team at The Embankment in Bedford.

Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but outstanding communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, excellent phone skills, and a warm personality are essential.

This is a full-time role, mainly Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, with occasional weekend work for overseeing events.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Answering the phone
  • Monitoring pub emails and forwarding to the appropriate manager
  • Greeting guests into the pub and hotel
  • Signing in contractors and visitors
  • Receiving deliveries
  • Responding to booking inquiries and maintaining booking records
  • Reconfirming reservations as needed
Rooms Management
  • Line manager for housekeepers
  • Ensuring room standards as a Mystery Sleeper champion
  • Daily room and communal area checks
  • Collaborating with the central team on occupancy and bookings
  • Training new managers on check-in/out procedures
  • Providing excellent guest check-in/out experiences and promoting reviews and direct bookings
  • Securing corporate bookings through cold calling
  • Ordering room consumables
  • Maintaining supplier relationships
  • Engaging with travel booking agencies
PUB Management
  • Managing private dining bookings, including weddings
  • Hosting and showing rounds to guests
  • Coordinating with the kitchen on pre-orders and menu requests
  • Conducting weekly meetings with HC and GM about bookings and menus
  • Reviewing performance against targets and planning events
  • Managing menu changes and staff training
  • Supporting team service and hosting large bookings
