Hotel and Events Manager - Peach Pubs

Location: The Embankment - Bedford, Bedfordshire

Salary: £29,500 - £30,000

If you are looking to join an award-winning gastro pub company, then look no further.

We are recruiting a passionate and enthusiastic Hotel and Events Manager to join our incredible team at The Embankment in Bedford.

Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but outstanding communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, dazzling phone skills, and a warm personality are a must.

This is a full-time role, working predominantly Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, but you may be required to work occasional weekends to oversee events.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  1. Answering the phone
  2. Monitoring pub emails, corresponding or forwarding to the correct manager
  3. Meeting and greeting guests into the pub and hotel
  4. Signing all contractors and visitors into the pub
  5. Receipting deliveries
  6. Responding to all booking inquiries, ensuring all booking diary and systems are up to date with as much information as possible
  7. Re-confirming table and room reservations where necessary

Rooms Management:

  1. Line management of housekeepers
  2. Mystery sleeper champion – ensuring housekeepers maintain Peach room standards
  3. Daily room and communal area checks
  4. Working with Peach central team on occupancy levels, converting bookings, generating leads, and building guest relationships
  5. Training new managers and masters on check-in, check-out, and booking procedures
  6. Providing guests with excellent check-in and check-out experiences, promoting TripAdvisor reviews, and encouraging direct bookings
  7. Cold calling to secure new corporate bookings
  8. Ordering room consumables
  9. Maintaining relations with suppliers
  10. Managing relationships with travel booking agencies

PUB Management:

  1. Private dining champion – booking and liaising with large parties, e.g., weddings
  2. Meet, greet, and show rounds with guests
  3. Managing weekly chef’s diary for pre-orders and kitchen needs
  4. Holding weekly meetings with HC and GM to discuss bookings, events, menu requests, and pricing
  5. Conducting monthly performance reviews against targets with GM and planning quarterly events
  6. Managing menu changes, including tills, menu changeovers, pricing, and team training
  7. Supporting the team during service when needed
  8. Hosting events and being the main contact for large bookings from initial enquiry to delivery
