Job description

Hosting Technology Lead

Location: Norwich

Salary: Circa £85,000

Are you ready to drive complex infrastructure change while safeguarding the performance of essential services?

Do you have deep expertise in large-scale migrations and thrive in high-impact environments?

If you're seeking a role where your leadership and technical skills can shape the future of our infrastructure, this could be the opportunity for you!

This role suits an experienced infrastructure solutions architect or technical leader with a strong background in outsourced services, especially within financial services.

It’s ideal for someone ready to step into a leadership position, bringing expertise in Active Directory transformations, infrastructure migrations, and operational oversight.

A bit about the job:

You’ll join a newly established team responsible for overseeing Aviva’s outsourced on-prem infrastructure landscape.

You’ll be central to architectural management, supporting migration waves, and ensuring technical operational excellence across infrastructure, capacity, and vulnerability management.

You’ll lead a team of experienced technicians, balancing short-term priorities with long-term strategic goals. Your leadership will be key to maintaining service continuity while driving critical transformation initiatives.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure change programmes in outsourced environments.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and develop a high-performing technical team.
  • Deep expertise in Active Directory transformations and infrastructure migration strategies.
  • Ability to collaborate across infrastructure and application teams to deliver change.
  • Proactive approach to risk and control management in a regulated environment.

What you’ll get for this role:

  • Our purpose — with you today, for a better tomorrow — is a promise we make to our colleagues. We invest in you to support your growth and success.
  • Salary Circa £85,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
  • Bonus opportunity — 12% of annual salary, based on performance.
  • Generous pension scheme — Aviva contributes up to 14% depending on your contributions.
  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, with options to buy or sell up to 5 days.
  • Discounts on Aviva products and other retailers, up to 40%.
  • Up to £1,200 of free Aviva shares annually through our Share Plans.
  • Supportive policies including parental and carers' leave.
  • Flexible benefits, including options like cycle to work.
  • Paid volunteering days to give back to the community.
  • Wellbeing support and tools to help you thrive.
