Duties and Responsibilities

As Host Restaurant Chef, I will support the Executive Chef and assume responsibility for theefficientoperation in the following:

  • Focus on the rejuvenation of the hosts/staff culinary experience
  • Adhere to EWSS policies and zero waste ethos
  • Cook freshly made food for hosts, making sure that offer is varied and balanced
  • Monitor flow of host cafeteria, making sure that food is always refreshed
  • Create ever changing menus for the staff
  • Create different activations, special events and menus for our hosts
  • Products and services will be constantly assessed and reviewed to remain relevant, innovative and in keeping with Six Senses wellness and sustainability practices.
  • Focus and review regularly through my physical presence in my department, our rigorous adherence to LQA standards.
  • Responsible for inspecting Kitchens on a regular basis and ensuring any maintenance and product improvements are actioned within the designated time frame.
  • Check incoming produce, ensuring that all food merchandise is in accordance with order sheets, receiving records and purchasing specifications.
  • Lead a team of engaged and experienced hosts to provide the Six Senses exceptional standards of service.
  • Assist with and oversee the management of monthly inventory
  • Adhere to the pricing guidelines established by the property.

Qualifications

To execute the position of Host Restaurant Chef, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years kitchen experience in a full-service outlet or similar setting. Hospitality diploma/degreefrom a recognized hospitality school is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the use of broiler equipment and understanding of meat and fish cookery, proficient knife skills and understand farm to table concept.
  • Technical skills include Advanced MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. I am also familiar with various hotel systems and have knowledge on property and policies on Food and Beverage and culinary.
  • Fluent in English; I understand that additional languages are preferred.
