We burst onto the restaurant scene in 1997, when we shook up London and showed the UK a new way of eating. Part of this was the 'kaiten' conveyor belt and colour-coded dishes which made our name. We're all about fresh, flavoursome, authentic Japanese food. Sushi is what we're famous for, but we also have a mouth-watering range of hot street food available - from traditional classics to innovative fusion dishes. All packed with rich, aromatic flavours and umami. Fast forward to today and we have over 70 restaurants all over the globe, more than 300 kiosks in the UK, with grocery products and pre-pack sushi in most major UK supermarkets.
Responsibilities
- Our Hosts are the first and final point of contact for our guest and are responsible for ensuring our guest journey starts and ends as a success. Provide a warm welcome, manage bookings, and acknowledge guests in a timely and welcoming manner. Pre-empt seating preferences while maximising restaurant operations.
- Be adaptable, welcoming and hands on. Communicate effectively with the YO! team to deliver a seamless wait time and handle guest enquiries and requests.
- Engage as a brand advocate, approaching passing guests to promote offerings and attract potential customers.
- Be guest oriented with a keen eye for customer needs and support Guest Servers on the floor.
- Maintain great organisation by managing reservations and waitlists using the restaurant’s booking system and pre-empting upcoming rushes.
- Problem solve to accommodate guest needs while managing operational demands.
- Work as a team, supporting Guest Servers with on-floor activities such as table set up and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. Ensure guest interactions are followed up to uphold high standards.
- Any guest interactions are followed up promptly to ensure guests leave happy and become brand advocates.

- Adaptable, flexible and committed to learning all the stations of a YO! restaurant.
- Hands-on, dynamic and a strong team player.

- Reliable with good timekeeping is essential.
