About the Role

Applebough Education is proud to be working in partnership with a thriving secondary school seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Hospitality Teacher to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator with a strong understanding of WJEC Hospitality and Catering courses to inspire and guide students aged 11-16.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering engaging lessons that blend practical and theoretical learning, helping students develop valuable life and industry skills within the hospitality and catering sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver, and assess WJEC Hospitality and Catering lessons in line with the current specification and school curriculum.
  • Create engaging and inclusive learning experiences that cater to a range of student abilities and learning styles.
  • Prepare students for internal and external assessments, ensuring they meet WJEC standards and expectations.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and interventions where necessary.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene in all practical learning environments.
  • Work collaboratively with department colleagues and wider school staff to support curriculum development and enrichment activities.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, supporting pastoral care and promoting positive attitudes to learning.
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience teaching WJEC Hospitality and Catering (Level 1/2 Award).
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the hospitality and catering industry.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
  • A passion for inspiring young people and fostering practical learning.
  • Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and the school's values.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience teaching in a UK secondary school setting.
  • Experience supporting students with additional learning needs.
  • Industry experience within hospitality or catering.
  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular or enrichment programmes
