Job summary

Waltham Forest College is seeking a Hospitality Technician & Support Practitioner to assist the Hospitality & Catering department. The role covers purchasing, stock control, deliveries and stores administration to support teaching kitchens and real-working environments.

The ideal candidate will have hospitality or catering supervisory experience, a full UK driving licence, and qualifications in food safety and health & safety.

The successful candidate will maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety, support the day-to-day running of training kitchens, and work closely with Chef Lecturers to ensure resources are available for teaching and real working environment activities. The ideal candidate will have experience working within the hospitality or catering sector at a supervisory level, with a strong background in stores, procurement, stock control, and food safety management. They will hold relevant Hospitality/Catering qualifications, a full UK driving licence, and be committed to their ongoing professional and personal development. Additionally, they will be highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and confident working independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels. Strong IT skills, sound knowledge of food and beverage operations, and the ability to communicate professionally and sensitively with a diverse range of individuals are essential. Qualifications in food safety, health and safety, first aid, manual handling, and assessment practice would be advantageous. What’s in it for you?
