Job summary

A leading employee-owned business in the UK is seeking Partners for their service counters. You will showcase your passion for food and create lasting relationships with customers, ensuring the highest standards of service at your food counter. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic with strong communication skills, and experience in customer-facing roles is a plus. Positions are available in Richmond/Twickenham and Weybridge, offering part-time roles with a pay rate of £13.60 per hour.

About the role

As a Partner on our service counters, you’ll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while highlighting how it is ethically sourced and recommending recipes for customers to try. You’ll actively bring our ethos - passionate Partners serving food lovers - to life.

You’ll use your enthusiasm and friendliness to build lasting relationships with customers, contributing to the impression they have of the Waitrose brand and encouraging repeat visits by earning their trust and loyalty. You will also help to maximise sales and profit.

Duties of the role will include handling raw meat, cutting, trimming and preparing special cuts of meat for display. Handling raw fish will include chopping, gutting, descaling and cleaning fish.

All training will be provided including food safety and hygiene.

The pay rate is £13.60 per hour (£13.85 After 90 days)

Key Responsibilities
  • You'll take responsibility for your own food counter ensuring the highest presentation and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Staying on top of stock levels, ensuring the products our customers love are there when needed.
  • Taking great care while working with open food and ensure all due diligence and health & safety protocols are followed. Helping to reduce food wastage.
  • Maintaining your knowledge of new products and have a good understanding of Waitrose's food values (e.g. animal welfare).
  • Supporting the wider shop team when required with general shopkeeping tasks.
