About the role

As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while being proud of its ethical sourcing. You will recommend recipes to customers and embody our ethos of passionate Partners serving food lovers. Your enthusiasm and friendliness will help build lasting relationships, positively impacting their impression of the Waitrose brand and fostering loyalty. Additionally, you'll contribute to maximizing sales and profit.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the highest presentation and hygiene standards at your food counter.
• Manage stock levels to ensure popular products are available.
• Handle open food carefully, following all health & safety protocols, and help reduce food wastage.
• Stay knowledgeable about new products and Waitrose's food values, such as animal welfare.
• Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.

Essential Skills/Experience

• Effective communication skills for teamwork and customer interactions.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Experience in a customer-facing role.
• Experience in catering or hospitality environments.
• Interest and knowledge of current food and drink trends.
• Flexible approach to support the branch as needed.
