About the role

As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while ensuring it is ethically sourced and recommending recipes to customers. You'll bring our ethos — passionate Partners serving food lovers — to life through your enthusiasm and friendliness, building lasting relationships with customers. Your efforts will impact their impression of the Waitrose brand, fostering trust and loyalty, while also helping to maximize sales and profit.

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for your own food counter, ensuring high presentation and hygiene standards at all times.
• Manage stock levels to ensure popular products are available.
• Work carefully with open food, following all health & safety protocols and helping to reduce food wastage.
• Maintain knowledge of new products and understand Waitrose's food values, such as animal welfare.
• Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks as needed.

Essential Skills/Experience

• Good communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Experience in a customer-facing role.
• Experience in catering or hospitality environments.
• Interest and knowledge of current food and drink trends.
• Flexible approach to support the branch as needed.
