Hospitality Services Assistant

We are seeking Hospitality Services Assistants to work in Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre’s popular Planet Café and new First Light Cafe. The post holder will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of our retail cafés.

Jodrell Bank Centre for Engagement is one of the University of Manchester's Cultural Institutions, dedicated to engaging audiences with the science, culture, and history of Jodrell Bank Observatory, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The cafes seat 85 indoors and 58 outdoors at First Light, and 50 indoors and 60 outdoors at Planet Café.

  • Cafe, barista, and catering services as required
  • Assisting with food preparation, stock control, and storage
  • Pot washing and table clearing
  • Maintaining standards of presentation, safety, and hygiene

Applicants should have experience in a café environment, food hygiene and allergen qualifications, and understanding of health & safety. Excellent customer service, communication skills, teamwork, reliability, and flexibility are essential.

This is a part-time weekend position, 14 hours per week, with occasional early mornings and evenings for events. The location is rural; candidates need their own transportation.
