Location: Barnard Castle, County Durham
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
We are looking for an experienced Hospitality Manager, Pub Manager, or Restaurant General Manager looking for your next exciting opportunity. You will be a passionate and hands-on General Manager to lead the operations of a popular pub, restaurant and bed & breakfast in the historic market town of Barnard Castle, County Durham.

The Role
As the Pub/Restaurant & B&B Manager, you will take full responsibility for the smooth and successful day-to-day operation of our traditional venue. This is a hands-on hospitality leadership role, perfect for someone who thrives in a busy customer-facing environment.
Full staff management including recruitment, induction, and supervision.
Creating and managing rotas and shift planning to ensure smooth service.
Conducting regular staff training and appraisals to boost performance and engagement.
Overseeing both front of house and back of house operations.
Maintaining high standards of customer service across the restaurant, bar, and accommodation.
Managing budgets, stock control, and supplier relationships.
Ensuring health & safety compliance and licensing regulations.
Driving marketing promotions, seasonal offers and event planning.
Delivering financial targets including cost control and profit margins.
Previous experience as a Pub Manager, Restaurant Manager, Bar Manager, or Hospitality General Manager
A proven track record of managing and developing successful teams
Strong leadership and organisational skills
Experience in managing a bed and breakfast, guest house or hotel-style accommodation (desirable but not essential)
A flexible and dynamic approach with a passion for delivering an excellent guest experience
Confidence with budgeting, reporting, and stock control software
