Job summary

Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites in Derry, Northern Ireland, is seeking a commercially focused Group Financial Controller to join our leadership team and drive financial performance across multi-site operations.

You will lead the finance function, partner with the General Manager and ownership, provide strategic insight, deliver monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and robust governance, and push process improvements to maximise profitability.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role.
• Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability.
• Experience within hospitality, hotels, leisure or multi-site operations would be highly advantageous.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive approach to systems improvement, process optimisation and business partnering.
• The ability to influence, challenge and support senior leaders in equal measure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Finance team and develop a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Partner with the General Manager and Ownership to support strategic planning and long-term objectives.
• Deliver meaningful financial analysis and commercial insight to drive decisions.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and month-end reporting.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships and covenant reporting.
• Oversee statutory accounts, audit process, VAT compliance.
• Strengthen controls, governance and board reporting packs.
