The Role

As a Hospitality and Kitchen Assistant, you will generally assist, wherever needed, with the day to day operations of the catering function within St George’s Park, including the Retirement Village, Care Homes and Assisted living facility.

This opportunity offers the perfect combination of front-of-house service by welcoming and assisting our residents and their visitors as well as hands-on support in our kitchen team too. If you enjoy variety, teamwork, and making a positive impact every day, we’d love to hear from you!

The role is working 40 hours per week, over 4 days on a 4 week rolling roster which will include alternate weekends. Plus, there will be the opportunity of overtime to cover annual leave and sickness if this is of interest.

Whilst this is a multi-site position, all working locations are on one site covering different kitchens and dining areas.

Requirements

The successful candidate will hold, or be working towards, City and Guilds 706 1 & 2 qualifications or equivalent, relevant qualifications, and current Food Hygiene Certificate Level 3.

The successful candidate will also have at least 2 years’ experience in catering, or a similar role, and be able to work well under pressure,

Although it is no longer a legal requirement for staff working within CQC regulated Care Homes for Older Adult Care in England to be fully COVID-19 vaccinated, in the best interests of our staff and residents, we have decided to keep it a mandatory requirement to work for our organisation. Therefore, we will need proof of your COVID Vaccination pass.

You must have current valid right to work in the UK.

The Person

The successful candidate will have -

  • A passion for catering and ability to display a positive and flexible aptitude to team working.
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills, as well as good customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a clean and tidy manner.
  • The ability to work efficiently under pressure.
