Job summary

Equans is seeking a Shift Electrical Engineer for MMUH, Smethwick, to cover a 40.25 hour week on a rota: 2 days (7am–7pm), 2 nights (7pm–7am), then 4 days off. The role includes a shift allowance and benefits package, with DBS clearance required.

You will respond to reactive jobs, diagnose faults, and manage electrical systems within a healthcare environment. City & Guilds 2/3 and AM218th Edition are preferred.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds levels 2 and 3
• AM218th Edition
• Previously worked within a maintenance environment
• Healthcare maintenance desirable
• DBS standard check essential

Responsibilities

• Undertake a proactive role in responding to reactive jobs to complete diagnostic, fault finding and repair to complex electrical systems in accordance with standards and procedures.
• Respond to BMS alerts and phone calls during nightshift, assessing issues, allocating tasks, and documenting accordingly.
• Obtain Competent Person status for systems such as low voltage electrical, access control, alarm systems and medical gas installations.
• Undertake role of Authorised Person after training and familiarisation.
• Work on emergency lighting, nurse calls, general electrics, fire alarms.
