This General Services Assistant and Porter post sits in the hotel services team at Camborne Redruth Community Hospital, run by Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The work covers portering, waste collection, receiving and distributing stock and supplies, and keeping the hospital clean.

The post runs seven days a week from 0600 to 2200, with training provided. Previous experience in a similar role is essential, with good maths and English and basic IT skills desirable.

Mansioni

• Provide hotel services with portering duties to the community hospital and outlying units under trust policies.
• Keep the establishment clean to quality control standards.
• Receipt goods, check for errors and report them.
• Collect waste.
• Deliver stock and supplies to all areas of the hospital.
• Control stock use in absence of the supervisor or senior GSA, marking as necessary.
• Be accountable for all keys and equipment issued or used.
• Report breakdowns and security issues.
• Carry out all General Services Assistant duties, follow policies, procedures and legislation, and maintain a professional, hygienic appearance.
• Follow health and safety legislation and COSHH requirements.
• Follow instructions and use equipment after training.
• Be helpful, courteous and kind to colleagues, patients and the public, and respect patients' dignity and privacy.
