Job summary

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Security Officer to monitor the CCTV system, respond to alarms and duress calls, and assist staff, patients and visitors. You will also help with parking on site, locate missing patients and support moving patients around the site where needed.

You will collect evidence under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, liaise with external agencies, and may represent the Trust in court cases involving theft, violence or damage to Hospital

Responsibilities

• To maintain a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors within the Hospital and grounds, and the protection of all Hospital assets
• To respond promptly to incidents and emergencies within the Hospital site
• To provide documentation, reports and liaise with outside agencies such as the Police
• To establish and maintain effective working relationships with all wards, departments, and outside agencies with which the Security Team comes into contact
• To collect evidence for the Police using Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 as required
• To represent the Hillingdon Hospital in Court, giving evidence in any cases that are involved with theft, violence or damage to Hospital property, staff, patients, or visitors
• To escort staff, cash and patients' property around the Hospital on a regular basis
• To regularly monitor the car parks and issue parking tickets to staff, patients, and visitors when necessary
• Issue keys to Hospital departments as necessary.
• To produce and issue ID/Access Cards, maintaining electronic database records
• The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust's services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.
