Job summary

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Security Officer to join a dynamic, patient‑focused team. The role supports clinical teams, protects patients and staff, and maintains safe hospital premises and car parks.

Responsibilities include delivering a high‑quality security service, assisting with enquiries, and following health and safety policies. The position runs a Friday–Thursday 6am–6pm shift pattern; DBS guidance applies.

Qualifications

• Good basic education.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to complete documentation accurately.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Professional, personable, and adaptable to the needs of the service.
• Able to remain calm, focused, and effective in challenging situations.
• Manual handling proficiency.
• Strong customer care skills.
• Possession of an SIA Door Supervisor Licence and/or CCTV Licence.
• Experience working within the NHS or a comparable environment.

Responsibilities

• To provide a highquality security service, to patients, staff, visitors, and contractors within hospital premises and car parks in accordance with SIA guidelines and Trust specifications.
• Undertake necessary duties to ensure the maintenance of an efficient security service.
• To assist visitors to the hospital site with general enquiries, in a pleasant and helpful manner
• All work must be undertaken in line with health, safety, security, Company and Trust policies and procedures.
