Job summary

Boots UK is seeking a Registered Pharmacist to provide safe, effective dispensing in hospital outpatient pharmacy clinics and to screen prescriptions in line with local and national guidelines. The role involves collaboration with consultants, nurses, technicians and multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites, ensuring patient safety and high standards of care.

Qualifications

  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Post-registration experience in hospital, outpatient, or advanced community pharmacy settings.
  • Demonstrates excellent clinical knowledge and decision-making skills.
  • Confident screening prescriptions and managing clinical queries independently.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable working on-site and using different digital healthcare systems.
  • Committed to delivering outstanding patient care and service improvement.

  • Deliver NHS, locally commissioned, and private services using both in-store and digital tools.
  • Lead professional and legal standards for patient safety and pharmacy compliance.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and continually improve standards of care and safety.
  • Work with the Store Manager to develop the capability of the wider healthcare team.
  • Grow talent reflecting the communities we serve; coach and mentor colleagues.
  • Represent Boots within the local community and with healthcare professionals.

Job description

  • Providing safe and effective dispensing services within hospital outpatient pharmacy clinics.
  • Clinically screening outpatient prescriptions to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with local and national guidelines.
  • Supporting multiple hospital outpatient departments through remote clinical verification
  • Working closely with consultants, specialist nurses, pharmacy technicians, and wider multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites
  • Identifying and resolving prescribing issues and medicines-related risks.
  • Advising patients on their medicines, treatment plans, and ongoing care.
  • Contributing to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical governance activities.
  • Maintaining high standards of patient safety and compliance.
What You’ll Be Doing
