Job summary

NHS Professionals is recruiting a Hospital Porter at Alexandra Hospital, Redditch, to support patient care across the hospital. The role offers flexible shifts, with pay of £12.71 per hour plus enhanced rates after 8pm.

You will join a busy team helping move patients, deliver items and uphold safety and cleanliness throughout the site. Ideal candidates are active, reliable, and able to communicate clearly in English.

Qualifications

• Physically active role in a busy hospital environment.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Confident spoken and written English communication.
• Manual Handling training or relevant experience.
• Positive attitude with good teamwork and bedside manner.

Responsibilities

• Safely transferring patients and visitors between wards and departments (A&E, X-ray, inpatient).
• Delivering essential items across the hospital (medications, blood products, specimens, notes, equipment, furniture, gas cylinders).
• Supporting cleanliness and safety through waste collection and disposal (clinical, general, recycling).
• Ensuring waste is segregated and handled per procedures.
• Adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
• Using equipment and PPE safely as trained.
