Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust (Burnley General Teaching Hospital) seeks Patient Services Assistants to support in-patients with cleaning and care. You will cover wards, clinics and corridors, providing general and deep cleaning, patient transfers and respectful handling of deceased patients when needed.

Role requires strong English communication and ability to use computers, phones and radios. The team values flexibility to move between full-time, part-time or weekend shifts to fit

Qualifications

• Effective communication in written and spoken English is essential.
• Need to be confident using computers, phones and radios.

Responsibilities

• Undertake general cleaning duties across wards, clinics, offices and public areas within your zone.
• Undertake deep cleans in your area including ward areas; remove bodily spillages if needed.
• Move patients around the hospital safely using wheelchairs, beds or trolleys.
• Move deceased patients in a respectful and sensitive manner.
• Ensure safe movement and decontamination of beds and other furniture.
