Job summary

Spire Shawfair Hospital is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join the engineering team on a permanent basis at Shawfair Park, Edinburgh. You will provide cost-effective engineering services across building services, equipment and grounds while ensuring a safe patient environment.

This full-time role includes a 37.5-hour week with day shifts and on-call rotation, reporting to the Engineering Manager and contributing to compliance with National legislation and Spire policies.

Qualifications

• Served a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
• Extensive knowledge of building services and facilities.
• Ability to communicate clearly with staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and assist in preventive maintenance and repairs for engineering services and equipment.
• Identify and report infrastructure and compliance risks to management.
• Keep accurate records and documentation for audits and asset management.
• Complete Spire competency documentation and identify training needs.
• Coordinate with external contractors and manage on-site contractors per policy.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality while performing duties.
