Hospital Porter - Maintenance (Bank)

Hereford Hospital | Maintenance | Bank contract - Ad hoc

£12.01 per hour

Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.

In this varied and physical role as a Hospital Maintenance Porter, you will provide general assistance and support within the hospital. As a Hospital Maintenance Porter, you will:

• Complete minor maintenance around the hospital, for example: decorating, moving furniture, etc.
• Carry out waste and pathology collections.
• Collect and return patient notes from various external locations.
• Provide general upkeep of the external grounds of the hospital such as clearing up litter.
• Work in a fast-moving environment, with constant interaction with all areas of the hospital.
• Directly support the Ward in the transfer of patients to and from theatre.

To succeed as a Hospital Maintenance Porter, you will:

• Be comfortable with a physical role which may involve pushing beds and lifting heavy equipment.
• Be a good communicator as the role involves interaction with all areas of the hospital.
• Have experience of working in a customer service / customer facing environment.
• Possess good written and verbal skills.
• Hold a valid driving licence.
• Comply with Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks if successful.
