Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Main area Chef Grade Band 3 on a bank basis for various shifts. The role is 15 hours per week, over 2 out of 7 days, with a pro rota salary of £25,760–£27,476.

You will prepare and cook nutritious hospital meals and support kitchen operations across Bedford and Luton sites. Responsibilities include menu execution, stock rotation, HACCP compliance, and assisting the Catering Manager.

Qualifications

• City Guilds or equivalent qualification.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 or above.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food to a high standard for hospital distribution.
• Ensure ingredients are available to meet patient and staff needs.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and presentation in all areas.
• Assist in maintaining and cleaning kitchen equipment and resources.
• Adhere to food hygiene and health and safety policies.
