Job summary

Medirest, part of Compass Group UK&I, is seeking a Domestic Assistant to support infection control and keep hospital environments clean and safe for patients and staff.

You will clean wards and public areas, maintain hygiene standards and interact with patients and visitors while staying flexible and calm under pressure. No prior experience is required, and a willingness to learn is highly valued.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required for Domestic Assistant.
• Willingness to learn and go the extra mile for patients.
• Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and staff.

Responsibilities

• High and low dusting, mopping, wiping and scrubbing surfaces.
• Cleaning of wards, side rooms, toilets, showers, infected and public areas.
• Ensure rubbish bins are maintained and removed when full.
• Maintain high hospital standards by ensuring all areas are clean, presentable and safe for visitors by following policies.
• Use equipment in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines.
• Contribute to patient care through clean, safe environments.
