Job description

If you are an experienced Hospital Director or senior clinician with a strong background in leading high-performing teams, and you are looking for a new opportunity to make a significant impact on an established mental health service, then consider applying to join the team at Pinhoe View.

You will be responsible for leading and managing both clinical and administrative teams, ensuring the delivery of excellent care, maintaining quality standards, and meeting financial targets.

As the Hospital Director at Pinhoe View, you will hold overall leadership and management responsibilities for the service, lead the multidisciplinary team, and oversee operational performance while developing commercial opportunities with purchasers and referrers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating the development of quality healthcare services that respond to the changing needs of purchasers and patients, reflecting market trends and evidence-based practices.
  • Ensuring that quality and financial targets are met.
  • Leading the senior management team on site, developing local strategies, and ensuring adherence to the service's objectives, quality improvement, and business plans.
  • Promoting and enhancing the hospital's reputation for specialist care and service.
  • Fulfilling the role of Registered Manager as per CQC expectations.
  • Engaging with Provider Collaboratives.

To be successful as a Hospital Director, you will:

  • Have an excellent track record in a management role within the healthcare sector.
  • Have a clinical background and understanding of mental health services.
  • Demonstrate a focus on performance and delivery to support successful service development, budget control, business growth, and revenue generation.
  • Possess a credible, inclusive, and supportive management style, balanced with strong leadership and sound knowledge to provide direction and implement change.
  • Have knowledge of clinical and non-clinical operational activities within a health sector organization.
  • Possess working knowledge of the NHS and independent healthcare sectors.

Where you will be working:

Location: Pinhoe View, College Way, Exeter, EX1 3PZ

Pinhoe View is a purpose-built facility offering a range of mental health services for adults with acute mental health conditions across two wards and eight flats. The 24-hour inpatient service is supported by a multidisciplinary team specializing in assessment, treatment, and stabilization of individuals experiencing significant mental health episodes and crises. The role involves shift patterns including weekends, bank holidays, and nights, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 9-5, with some flexibility outside these hours.
