Hospital Director - Private Mental Health Hospital

Salary: £90,000 - £100,000 per annum (DOE)

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Hospital Director to lead a well-established private mental health hospital offering a range of specialist services, including acute, addictions, CAMHS, and rehabilitation.

We're seeking a strategic and commercially minded leader who can balance outstanding patient care with clear business vision, driving growth, service quality, and operational excellence while ensuring the hospital continues to meet all clinical and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities & Leadership Focus
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across all service areas and wards.
  • Deliver sustained revenue growth and improved performance through effective business development.
  • Ensure full CQC compliance and uphold the highest standards of clinical governance, safety, and care.
  • Lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams, including ward managers and clinical leads.
  • Strengthen relationships with commissioners, referrers, and local stakeholders.
  • Identify and develop new service opportunities, investment areas, and market growth initiatives.
  • Oversee budgets, resources, and workforce planning to ensure efficiency and long-term sustainability.
  • Apply strong financial and operational insight to support the hospital's strategic goals.
  • Bring proven experience within mental health or specialist inpatient services, with a record of commercial success and strong stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities; NMC or HCPC registration preferred but not essential.
