Job summary

NHS Scotland seeks an enthusiastic chef to join our dedicated Catering Department at Victoria Hospital in Central Fife. This 36-hour per week post covers five days over seven with shifts Mon–Fri between 7:00am and 3:00pm, subject to change to meet service needs including occasional weekend work.

You will prepare, cook and present meals for our dining room, Grab & Go and Café, while maintaining safe, hygienic practices and following national catering standards for hospitals.

Qualifications

• Experience in a large environment preferred.
• Follow standardised recipes to prepare, produce and present meals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking and presentation of meals for dining room, Grab & Go and Cafe.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene, allergen and health and safety procedures are followed.
• Support stock management, minimise waste and portion control; work with Retail kitchen supervisor to promote catering services.
