Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services at John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, Oxford, is looking for a Catering Assistant. This permanent, full-time role sits at 37.5 hours per week with a salary of £24,852.65 per annum.

Qualifications

• Previous catering experience in a similar environment.
• Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates (training provided if not held).
• Adequate numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
• Passion for customer service and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Adaptable, detail-oriented, with strong organisational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain dining and service areas, including furniture and equipment.
• Serve food in correct portions and wash dishes and catering equipment.
• Clean catering areas daily and follow health and safety standards.
• Handle cash collection, banking, and maintain records and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and colleagues to deliver service.
