Job summary

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a clerical administrator to provide full support across hospital departments, including reception, MIU and outpatient areas. You will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, helping to ensure smooth operations and responsive service delivery.

The role offers full or part-time hours across seven days, with a 37.5-hour week (pro rata for part-time). NHS-wide benefits and development opportunities accompany the position.

Qualifications

  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • NVQ/RSA 2 or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of working in an administrative setting.
  • Experience of managing electronic and paper-based diary / appointment systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly on telephone and face to face.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full clerical support to hospital functions and/or clinical teams.

Job overview

To provide full clerical support to various key functions within the hospital setting and/or clinical team. Assist in the continuity of service by working from reception on a rotational basis. Be the first point of contact for all patients, visitors and members of the public attending the hospital / clinic and ensure they are fully assisted as required. To provide administrative functions within a hospital or clinical team setting, supporting a range of services which could include: Minor Injuries Unit, Out-patient, and In-patient areas.

Main duties of the job

Duties will include working in various departments including the main reception, working in minor injury unit, out-patient and inpatient areas, working with out-patient and MIU staff and also working within the ward, where you will provide support to the inpatient team working with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.

Education & Qualifications
